Louis A.  Perrotta
Louis A. Perrotta, 90 Loving role model for his grandchildren and great-children Louis A. Perrotta, 90, of Oakwood, died peacefully in his home on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016. Mr. Perrotta was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. He lived in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn before moving to Staten Island in 1965. He graduated from Haaren High School in Manhattan. As a security control manager for Prudential Bache, he worked at the Wall Street brokerage firm for over 40 years before retirement. An avid sports player in his youth, Mr. Perrotta enjoyed telling stories about his days of playing stickball in the streets and being quarterback of his football team despite being the smallest one. He enjoyed watching all sports, playing cards and spending time with family. Mr. Perrotta, son of the late Anthony and Michelina Perrotta, was predeceased by his first wife, Catherine Perrotta (nee Smeragliuolo), to whom he was married for 14 years, and his second wife, Anna Perrotta (nee Monteforte), to whom he was married for 39 years. He was the beloved father of Donna Rago and her husband, Joseph, Debra Roe, Joanne Palmitessa and her husband, Frank, Frank Perrotta and his wife, Marilyn, and Anthony Perrotta and his wife, Rose. He was a loving role model to 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all who will miss him dearly. Mr. Perrotta is also survived by his sister, Louise Capano. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Perrotta, and sister, Marie Perrotta. The family will receive friends at Colonial Funeral Home in New Dorp on Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass celebrating his life will be held at St. Charles Church, Oakwood, on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. Entombment will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp. -
